Juliette Gordon Low is one of Savannah's most valuable gifts to the world. She overcame a hearing loss and is not married to distinguish itself as one of the founders of the Girl Scouts.

Happy childhood

Early in life, Juliette Gordon Low was a sense of visual art, which they later prove useful in the structuring of Girl Scouts. She is trained in the art of color and sculpture. She was sensitive and gifted in drawing, poetry and drama.

She had a happy childhood, but went through a "mid-life crisis" that led to the founding of Girl Scouts. Errors on her 20-year marriage was the culmination of events.

Middle Age Crisis

Savannah was the scene of her commitment to a well to do Englishman, but they have been resident in Britain. Juliette Gordon Low out-of-country a lot and felt the Americas during the Spanish-American War called upon to help his mother in a hospital for wounded soldiers.

When she returned to Britain after the Second World War, was her marriage in ruins. It ended abruptly when her husband died of a stroke 1905th His will left most of the good fortune to his mistress, the woman left in a state of minimal depression.

Juliette Gordon Low took to the streets and have a much soul searching for the next five years. It came to a head when they met in 1911, Sir Robert Baden-Powell. In about a year she was back home in America, and during that time the phone call with a distant relative, where she spoke the now historic words:

"Come, I have something for girls in Savannah and throughout America and the world, and we will start it tonight! Immediately Juliette recruited 18 girls and on March 12, 1912 formed the first anti-American Girl Guides'. The following year, was reorganized under the name "Girl Scouts.

Juliette Gordon Low wanted girls step into the lives of active citizenship.

She tried to teach self-reliance and inventiveness in order to meet girls from all walks of life by including them in out-of-doors.

In addition to multiplying their wildest dreams, the little group of 18 girls from the original force of its current 3.7 million members. Girl Scouts is the world's largest educational group for girls, with more than 50 million girls who appeared in the last hundred years.
